Q: where is the MSA office located?

A: Our office is located in the EME (Engineering, Management & Education) Building! Specifically, EME 1161 is where you can find us!

Q: Why am I paying fees for the MSA?

A: The MSA offers a variety of activities and initiatives that help Mgmt students get the most out of their time here at UBCO. By paying fees, the MSA is able to provide opportunities for students to apply the knowledge they’ve gained in the classroom with networking, social and academic based events. The fees also help fund the various clubs that run under the MSA.

Q: what is co-op?

A: Interdisciplinary Co-op Education offers undergraduate students enriched educational experiences through workplace learning in a diversity of organizations. Find out more info here!

Q: Where can I see what events are happening?

A: Check out the Upcoming Events Tab at the top of your screen! Or text msa at +1 (888) 476-1674 to receive weekly updates and event information!

Q: How much will business trips cost?

A: The MSA subsidizes the costs of business trips for Management Students to make them more financially accessible for all MGMT students. The level of subsidation works on a bracket system and depends on the total costs of the business trip.

Q: Where can I find photos from the Events I attended?

A: Check out the Photos tab at the top of the screen! Clicking on “View All Photos” will take to the shared Google Folder, allowing you to download your favorite photos and look through them all!

Q: What is the MSC (Management Student Card)?

A: The Management Student Card is a discount card that allows students to access a variety of discounts within the Okanagan. It is aimed to make living and expenses more affordable for students living on a budget.

Q: How can I get a Management Student Card?

A: There will be an online application that you can access on our website HERE! Once you have applied you will be reached our to by one of our executives to come and retrieve your card at the MSA office.

Q: How can I join the MSA?

A: There are many ways to join the team. In April, the first round of hiring will start for following year’s team. There is also a second round of hiring at the end of September/early October. But don’t worry if you miss these deadlines, all MGMT students are welcome to attend our events and initiatives. You can find these posted on the MSA instagram (@msaubco) or on the events page!

Q: I missed the deadline to apply for an MSA Position, what do I do?

A: Don’t panic! Simply email president@msaubco.ca expressing your interest and they will provide you various opportunities to participate within the MSA, if hiring has concluded.
